Peace

[et_pb_section admin_label="section"][et_pb_row admin_label="row"][et_pb_column type="4_4"][et_pb_text admin_label="Text"] You guys!! It's the eve before the eve and I just finished making my mom's famous cream puffs to bring to a party tonight. Now I'll sit down for some peace and quiet before the boys get home from school for the next 2 weeks. I wonder how do you find peace among chaos or if it's even possible? Peace...it's another one of those words to use in many ways.

At church you say "peace be with you". When you're looking to get away from everything you're searching for peace and quiet. When you're watching world events unfold you ask or pray for peace. When saying goodbye to friends you've probably at one time in your life said "peace out" (yeah, you know you did, so don't deny it!).  Those are just off the top of my head, I'm sure there are a ton more...

Right now peace for me is about being calm. Trying to maintain my inner quiet while my brain screams at me all day long is a difficult thing to do. Meditate? Work out? Preoccupy myself with other holiday related tasks? Pack for our upcoming trip? How can I block out the "noise" to maintain the peace? There is no right answer to this question, for me it's a different way from minute to minute. There's been so much concentration, exploration, wondering, pondering, negotiating, discussing going on over here it's exhausting. I need some peace, some tranquility. I want to enjoy the next few days of "organized" chaos in the most peaceful way possible. So I think in order to keep my inner peace, I vow to take deep breaths more often, practice patience, relish in the excitement of the holidays, laugh with my friends and family, live in the present and cherish the memories we're creating.

My wish today is for peace...peace for yourself, peace for others and peace for our world.

Peace out you guys! (you knew I had to do it, right?!) :)

xo
