Resolutions...

[et_pb_section admin_label="section"][et_pb_row admin_label="row"][et_pb_column type="4_4"][et_pb_text admin_label="Text"] Happy New Year you guys! I know it's 6 days late but we were on vacation...we went from one extreme to the other over the holidays, Florida heat for Christmas and Connecticut snow for new year's. Now I'm back from our super busy travels and ready to tackle the year ahead.

I had a lot of really great, meaningful visits with friends and family over the last 2 weeks. There was a lot of talk about my future plans. I got some great advice from people I truly admire accompanied by really positive feedback and suggestions. I'm looking to explore some new uncharted territory as my next career step and I'm super excited about the endless possibilities. Once I have it all nailed down, I'll share the deets.

In the meantime, let's discuss resolutions. I'll start by saying this: I stopped make resolutions a long time ago and here's why...for me, they don't work in the traditional sense. Every time I've made a resolution in the past, 99% of the time they only last a hot minute. Now I'm going to approach it a different way, I've decided that every day is a new resolution. So instead of making a list of goals I want to attain or things I want to change about myself long term, I've decided that the only way a resolution will stick for me is to have it be fresh every day. Baby steps. That's not to say it can't be a repeat from a prior day (like exercise for example), but I think I'll try to incorporate something new in there too. Hell, sometimes it can be as easy as taking a shower, because you know friends, that can be a task that is very easily overlooked.

Today my resolution is to try a workout program that was designed by my friend's sister in law who's a chiropractor. It's focused on helping achieve good posture and the exercises are centered around core muscle training. I just finished watching the DVD and I'm about to go put on my workout clothes and give it a whirl. Anything I can do from the comfort of my own living room already has an advantage, especially when it's snowing outside (like today!). The program is called the PostureFit System, http://www.getposturefit.com/us/en/ and I'm going to try to resolve to do it every day for 30 days to see if I see a difference in how I'm feeling activity wise. I'll be sure to let you know how it's going over the next month....

On top of that, today I resolve to get a manicure because my hands are gross, my skin is dry from the heat being on all the time, and I need 30 minutes of relaxation after 2 weeks of insanity (the good kind).

Have a great day everyone! What do you resolve to do today? :)
